Thank you for your interest in a $1,000 college scholarship from Community Harvest. Community Harvest is a local organization that focuses on food sharing, fellowship and financial assistance. A common thread through all of our programs is the celebration of diversity, support for inclusion, and commitment to grass roots community building. The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize students who have made a significant impact on their community in one or more of these areas.
We know that the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted nearly every area of our lives this year. We recognize the acute impact this pandemic has had on you as high school seniors, with significant changes to home, school, and community life. Given this, we have expanded our definition of community impact to include the efforts you may have undertaken to support those in your “COVID community” during the past year – this may be family, extended family, or your “COVID bubble.” We want to know not only how volunteering has impacted your high school tenure, but how COVID has changed what you do and how you may think about community moving forward.
Please use the following information to determine if you are a good candidate for this scholarship:
- • You are a resident of Kennebunk, Kennebunkport or Arundel
- • You have made contributions to your community through volunteering or advocacy efforts that promote community building, diversity and/or inclusion.
- • Although not required, Community Harvest values volunteer efforts that provide a positive impact in the communities of Kennebunk, Kennebunkport and Arundel
Thank You!
