Local Foods for Local Families
Healthy Harvest increases low-income individuals’ and families’ access to healthy, fresh and locally grown foods. The program partners with local farms and provides grants to families to participate in Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs on a regular basis. Community Harvest piloted this program in 2021 with Frinklepod Farm in Arundel. The program was a success and is expanding in 2022.
Community Harvest is currently enrolling individuals and families in the program for the 2022 season. If you or someone you now has an interest in adding more organic and fresh produce to your diet, and meet the criteria below, please contact Community Harvest at (207) 967-1911 by May 16, 2022.
Program Criteria:
- Qualify as low-income
- Have transportation and the ability to shop regularly at the farm in Arundel
- Have email access to receive the weekly Frinklepod CSA newsletter
- Willing to participate in a pre- and post-program survey/interview to assess program impact and success
